High Fire Danger

High When the fire danger is "high", fires can start easily from most causes and small fuels (such as grasses and needles) will ignite readily. Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape. Fires will spread easily, with some areas of high-intensity burning on slopes or concentrated fuels. Fires can become serious and difficult to control unless they are put out while they are still small. Mowing or edging generally be done in the morning. Mowing, edging, or clearing dead vegetation should be limited to the morning hours. Having a nearby source of water may be helpful.

Truck 31

Truck 31 was purchased in 2020 for approximately $450,000.00 and will be placed at fire station 31. Truck 31 serves as the backup fire truck in case the primary unit is out for maintenance. Truck 31 is unique in that it has a 100' ladder with platform that can be used to reach large warehouses and the roof of multi story buildings. The unit carries 500 gallons and a full compliment of ladders to meet the Insurance Services Office (ISO) grading schedule. Truck 31 was purchased used at a significant savings to the taxpayer.
