Engine 33

Fire Engine 33

Engine 33 is a type 1 fire engine that was purchased in 2010 at an approximate cost of $460,000. It is was purchased together with Engine 32 and carries 750 gallons of water.  The on-board pump is rated at 1,250 gallons per minute. The unit was purchased during times of fiscal challenges culminated by the recession of 2007-2010. The unit highlights a more cost effective design. The LMFD was evaluating the rural application, the use and durability of a commercial cab verses a traditional built cab, a motor redesign to comply with new emissions laws, and a pump configuration that was more compact and easier to maintain. These two units mark the first time that a fire engine used all roll up door style compartment doors.
