Firefighters Local #4317 MOU 2023-2024

Picture of Local 4317 President Daniel Stelle

Firefighters and line staff personnel are integral to our fire district. They are the faces seen and people responding to your call for help. The term is encompassing and includes positions: Firefighter, Engineer, and Captain.

Firefighters and those various positions with the Lathrop Manteca Fire District work a 48/96 hour work schedule. They are the primary responders to our communities emergencies. While Chief Officers within the LMFD are also response personnel, they are generally reserved for multi unit responses, or responses that are more complex in nature.

Being a firefighter in the LMFD means that you will respond to a diverse section of calls. Whether a service call to check a smoke detector, providing public education, answering general questions, maintaining our fleet, maintaining stations, training, or responding to emergency calls our firefighters have some of the highest standards in the industry. Our stations are clean, our equipment is ready, and our team is prepared!

If you're thinking about joining our team take a look at the most recent MOU for complete salary and benefits package. Firefighters can earn over $72,700 in starting wages and incentives. In addition, the LMFD pays over $3,400 a month towards health insurance premiums for you and your family. Contributions to social security on your behalf are also made. Social Security contributions are a rarity in public service and the LMFD is proud to support our employees to the extent responsible. Other benefits include a vacation buy back program that adds additional income for those months when more financial support is needed and a first class retirement system with a health insurance exchange at retirement. These numbers are for 10 to 11 shifts per month and do not include the numerous overtime opportunities that exist at the LMFD. Feel free to dive into the MOU to see if a career change or starting a career at the LMFD is right for you!
