High Fire Danger

High When the fire danger is "high", fires can start easily from most causes and small fuels (such as grasses and needles) will ignite readily. Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape. Fires will spread easily, with some areas of high-intensity burning on slopes or concentrated fuels. Fires can become serious and difficult to control unless they are put out while they are still small. Mowing or edging generally be done in the morning. Mowing, edging, or clearing dead vegetation should be limited to the morning hours. Having a nearby source of water may be helpful.

Fire Stations & Tours

Guided tours of a fire station are available to any member of our community free of charge. In fact, we encourage it! Whether a family outing or a cub scout meeting, touring a fire station can be a great experience. Come, bring a camera, and enjoy a guided tour of one of the LMFD's fire houses...it's an open house!

To schedule a tour please call the station you wish to tour, and speak with the on-duty Fire Captain. The location and telephone number can be found at the bottom of each photo.
