High Fire Danger

High When the fire danger is "high", fires can start easily from most causes and small fuels (such as grasses and needles) will ignite readily. Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape. Fires will spread easily, with some areas of high-intensity burning on slopes or concentrated fuels. Fires can become serious and difficult to control unless they are put out while they are still small. Mowing or edging generally be done in the morning. Mowing, edging, or clearing dead vegetation should be limited to the morning hours. Having a nearby source of water may be helpful.

Fire Station Open Houses

Open houses have been supported by the Fire Board and Administration of the Lathrop Manteca Fire District for a number of years. Open houses provide an opportunity to visit your neighborhood station or all of our stations! Firefighters try and provide educational opportunities like Hands Only CPR, equipment demonstrations, and free food! Our CERT Team, Reserve Firefighters, and others provide information on opportunities to volunteer. It is not uncommon to see educational videos, kids playing on the fire engine, families taking pictures, and numerous BIG smiles on the faces of both kids and their adult parents!
