High Fire Danger

High When the fire danger is "high", fires can start easily from most causes and small fuels (such as grasses and needles) will ignite readily. Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape. Fires will spread easily, with some areas of high-intensity burning on slopes or concentrated fuels. Fires can become serious and difficult to control unless they are put out while they are still small. Mowing or edging generally be done in the morning. Mowing, edging, or clearing dead vegetation should be limited to the morning hours. Having a nearby source of water may be helpful.

Station 31 Construction Update 3.10.21

Most of the demolition inside the station has been completed. Engineering specialist were brought in to evaluate some of the structural members to ensure that we have a building that will last for many years. The contractor is also cleaning out existing plumbing and relocating some of the new plumbing. So far we are on track with being completed by the end of August...and that is GREAT news!

This week we are anticipating having some framing completed in the dorm area and the walls in the gym moved to increase the size of the available workout floor space.

Just a reminder that the shift Battalion Chief is still responding to calls from this site and carries with them valuable tools like a mechanical CPR device, defibrillator, and other essential equipment.
